Globe Valves are commonly used in steam application or where throttling of the media is required. The design of the Globe Valve seat it utilised while closing to decrease the flow gradually until it completely seals on the face. Due to the design there is significant pressure drop whilst comparing to a gate Valve. Globe Valves are Unidirectional meaning they are designed for media flow in one direction only as directed by the arrow on the side of the valve.
